To use the term ‘ tumultuous ’ to describe the past few years feels like an understatement . Whilst the effects of the pandemic , global political unrest and conflict and even the extreme weather conditions at the start of the year have caused distress and uncertainty for many , one thing which is certain is that the value of financial advice to consumers has never been more apparent . When clients experience concern about their investment portfolios , providing for their family in the long-term or ensuring their own financial circumstances remain secure in the future , the skills of a professional financial adviser are absolutely invaluable . In addition to the vast experience and technical knowledge you offer , the strength of your relationship with clients can also deliver a huge amount of reassurance and peace of mind . In the results of our survey , which can be found on pages 6 , 7 and 8 , you can see what this means in reality . Advisers told us that their businesses were , on the whole , growing with client numbers on the increase . No wonder that , despite some tough times in recent years , only 3 % of those who responded didn ’ t feel positive about the future . We hope that the support we provide to you also feels valuable .
