What you told us

In our mid-year survey , you told us that 2024 has been a good year so far . Extremely busy – but good
The majority of advisers , 78 %, reported that the year had been good or very good so far , with none describing it as bad . As we approach the end of the year , optimism remains strong , with 76 % maintaining a positive outlook . However , with significant changes on the horizon , some advisers are waiting to see how things develop before forming a final view on 2024 .
How was the first half of the year ?
How are you feeling about the second half of the year ?
very good good ok positive negative unsure
We asked advisers what they would be focussing on for the rest of 2024 ...
Provide more to existing clients
Grow client base
Increase income and / or value of business
Review processes to meet regulatory requirements
Streamline operations
New process / tech to evidence Consumer Duty
Continuing from the start of the year , advisers told us overwhelmingly that their number one focus was still to provide more support to their clients and , where possible , continue to provide more advice to more people . Reviewing processes and using technology to streamline operations featured high on the agenda , something reaffirmed by the need to deliver annual reports ahead of the Consumer Duty anniversary . Some 60 % of advisers said that , whilst they had met the deadline for completing their annual assessment for Consumer Duty , they had no clear and repeatable process , or the process was manual or relying heavily on human input . Nearly half ( 44 %) of advisers said they wanted to communicate with their clients more , or in a more efficient manner .
