Closing the gender pension gap – our daughters deserve better The gender pension gap is the younger , yet more imposing sister of the gender pay gap . The gender pay gap is currently 7.7 % 1 . The gender pension gap at age 22 is £ 100 . By age 65 it is £ 100,000 . The Equal Pay Act 1976 is 48 years old , yet somehow , we still do not have income parity in the UK . This pace of change feels overwhelmingly slow , and I am uncomfortable with what that means for our young women .
