Focus groups
Our new programme of focus groups is up and running . We invite firms to join our regular meetings to discuss new and existing initiatives , help us understand how services are used , and discuss where we could make further improvements . We are taking the input we receive and using it to continuously evolve and grow our offering . We would welcome more members to join our group . Once you sign up , you can pick and choose which focus groups you ’ d like to attend . We have run sessions on the member website , our events and the customer service we provide , with a monthly programme planned for the coming year .

Best Practice Forums
In July we brought back our Best Practice Forums , in a virtual format . These events are driven by advisers who shape the agenda and share ideas , experiences and thoughts with other likeminded people . It ’ s a great way for our members to benefit from the collective experiences and thoughts of their peers . The topics are chosen by those taking part and are led by one of our senior management team , often with support from one of the compliance team , depending upon on the subjects being discussed . Some of the topics we covered in our most recent round were fee charging , evidencing regulation , the pros and cons of various pieces of technology , and AI . Our most recent round of Best Practice events has been oversubscribed , so we have added two more dates in December , with more coming in the new year .
Discovery calls

So far , we have held over 600 calls with members , with very positive feedback . Key areas of discussion have been the best tech for their businesses , Defaqto Engage , compliance visits , business planning , marketing and more .

• Challenge : We heard that the current member website is hard to navigate and some information is hard to access in a hurry
• Solution : We are creating a member portal over the coming months that will be more user friendly and make access to the information you need simple , look out for more and join the focus group list to have your input
• Challenge : You want a community to be able to ask thoughts and opinions of your peers on a day-to-day basis .
• Solution : Over the coming months , we will offer a community space ; we are researching the best platform to use so watch this space !
• Challenge : You told us you often receive too much communication from us and were missing important things
• Solution : We are relooking at our communications and commit to cutting down on the number of emails you receive , making sure what you get is relevant to your business . We will utilise the new member portal to ensure you never miss an important update and the communications you receive are personal to you .
